I was a member of the planning committee that coordinated PART’s annual Triad Commute Challenge. The Challenge was a 3 month pledge campaign that encouraged members of the local community to try an alternative form of transportation at least once during the three month period. The Challenge was heavily focused on community outreach, sponsorship and gift donation, and promoting the Commuter Dash 5K run/walk event which was held at the end of the Challenge.TCC flyer

PART ambassador program logoAmbassador Volunteer Program

Developed PART’s Ambassador Volunteer Program, that spanned across a 10 county region in North Carolina. The program objective was to encourage residents and commuters of the Piedmont Triad Region to take more trips by using public transportation alternatives, rather than drive alone in their personal vehicles. The Ambassadors were PART ambassador tutoriallocal PART riders, who acted as informal representatives of PART, and helped encourage their community to use public transportation through word of mouth, distributing advertisements, and also volunteering for company events.

The program consisted of two volunteer sessions, which spanned 6 months. To participate, volunteers would fill out an application and questionnaire to become an ambassador for their area. Once selected, the ambassadors received free t-shirt, bus basses, and a badge to wear during their commute, which identified them as a “Proud Part Ambassador”.

My role for the program was to act as Program Manager, overseeing 60 annual volunteers. I developed tutorials and trained each ambassador on general PART information, before they started their ambassador session. Throughout each program session, I would act as the main point of contact for the ambassadors, assign tasks, recruit event volunteers, and hold recognition events for our volunteer’s hard work.
